Box office hit Hanuman Ansh has collected Rs 18.50 crore net on its 37th day, surpassing the previous record held by Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar. The film has now earned nearly 100 times its reported Rs 2 crore budget.
A sleeper hit at the box office, the film has earned three times as much as Dhurandhar did on the same day.
The previous record stood at Rs 5.75 crore net, set by the spy-action thriller on its 37th day. This is a rare feat for a film in its sixth week.
The story is based on the book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life, written by director Vishal Chaturvedi. He also produced the project and waived his directorial fee to complete it.
Based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, the film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 2 crore with no star cast. One of its producers, 21-year-old Anupriya Nagar, has said, “I invested my entire savings because I felt a personal connection to the story.”
The project initially faced several setbacks, including rejection from OTT platforms. It became Bollywood’s 4th highest-grossing release of 2026. Chaturvedi has also confirmed the story will unfold as a three-part series.
Producer Namrata Singh has revealed that parts two and three will focus more on Baba’s work and the devotees, both in India and abroad.
She also named figures such as cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma, Hollywood actress Julia Roberts, and business tycoons Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs as devotees who may be explored in the later parts.
